Me and some friends are going to smoke inside a motorhome with smoke detectors how do I turn them off or make it so they wont sense the smoke?

absolutely not. a welding spark is hot molten metal. that well exceeds 1000 degrees farenheit. glass will melt at temperatures that hot. in fact the actual meting point for glass is 1617 degrees celcius. and the average arc temperature is anywhere from 3000 to 20000 degrees celcius. that meanc at its coldest, an arc will produce almost double the heat it will take to liquify glass.

If the area you are trying to cover is not to large why not use a piece of sheet metal or tin? The problem I see with the fiberglass is that walking on it will seperate the fibres and may introduce holes , and it will eventually become a big mess of fiberglass all over your wood floor that you will never be able to completely clean up. A piece of concrete board from HD would do just as well
