How to undo soldered 1/2 copper water pipe ?
i agree, there's still water in there, my solution would be to cut the copper pipe before and after the joint. if the pipes are sagging you'll never get the water out. BEEN THERE DONE THAT. even if you do cut the pipe, make sure you then drain all the water from both sides or you still wont be able to solder them back together.
Drain the line as possible and heat it with a torch. If you will be re-soldering and there's a little water in the line, here is a trick. Take a wad of bread and cram it in the opening. It will stop the drip long enough to re-solder the pipe. When you turn the water back on, unscrew the aerator at whatever faucet it feeds and then open the faucet. The bread dough comes out.
IT WILL BE EASIER IF YOU JUST SHUT OFF THE WATER TO THE LINE AND CUT THE COPPER THAN TRING TO REHEAT THE JOINT.
