Question:

How to weld stainless steel?

My company want to welding stainless steel, do not know to use what welding machine?

Answer:

There are many ways in welding stainless steel, such as coating manual welding, argon arc welding, pulsed argon arc welding, MIG, pulsed MIG, double pulsed MIG. Different welding ways own their merits and faults and adaptive working conditions. It is recommended to choose pulsed MIG, its molding very good and efficiency high, so it is mainstream application for stainless steel welding. Now many digital welding machines can supply these welding methods at the same time. And their welding effects is far better than traditional machines. Among them, FRONIUS’s TPS series and Nebula series are representitive products.
Stainless steel is a fascinating metal to weld. Welding stainless can be difficult if you don't know what you are doing. It reacts to excessive heat by warping and distorting once it cools. Everything shows up in stainless. If you weld with too much heat you can see it by the heat marks left in the metal along with any distortion. It also scratches very easily so you must take care when welding on a metal table. Stainless steels can be welded using several different procedures such as shielded metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, and gas metal arc welding but stainless steel welding wires have been developed for welding stainless steels.
They actually make a stainless rod now that can be used with most arc welders
MIG and TIG welding will produce a better looking weld with little slag left on the weld. They also make coated rods that can be used with stainless, that will leave a slag behind just like carbon steel welding. Any of these can be used. Specifics of which materials and method should be employed depend on the specifics of the materials used, what joint type is being made, what position the weld must be made in, etc.
