Children need defined rules and proper bed-times. Teens can have little more latitude. High schoolers can set their own hours. Just because bed-times are getting later doesn't mean there aren't still rules. Even when my kids were allowed to set their own bedtimes they were still expected to be in their own rooms by a specific hour. What they did before going to sleep (read, talk on phone, play video games) was up to them. By the time the kids are in high-school they will be doing their own thing anyway. You are free to have your time alone or with your spouse whenever you want. Go to bed - close the door and carry on
well right now my baby is 8 months, so she pretty much sleep when she sleepsbut when she is older shes going to bed by 8 or 9. gotta give mommy and daddy some down time
