How would you polish and seal a 4 foot copper pipe?
If its to wet the eggs will get mold and rot. If its to dry they will dryout and die.
I agree with the previous answer, but will add a bit. If you want the copper to retain its polished look, you need to apply a final coating. I find Krylon spray acrylic works quite well, and it is available glossy or flat. Another option is furniture wax, though this will need re-application every few years. In any case, try all three of these methods on a piece of scrap copper before using them on your final piece. They all look a bit different, and you will want to choose the one that you think looks best.
