If the attorney recommends that you contest the ticket I recommend that you follow the advice of the attorney and contest the ticket. I suspect that if you have an attorney represent you, there is a very good chance that you will win.
I had the some problem except is was not local. And i ended up never paying it, because of the stupidity of cops. Seriously, they should have better things to do then simply crap like this. But, it happened, and if it is any less than 30 bucks, i say just go and pay, though, if it is above. I think somewhere on your ticket, it will have numbers you can call to fight. Or i think, after a couple years the point will go away, so you could just sit back and hope not to be pulled over. But i do not think it is that big of a deal.
