Question:

I am doing a maths project on furnace reactions and am looking for some properties of iron ore?

In a blast furnace iron ore is combined with coke to make carbon dioxide. I am looking for properties of the reagants such as density, specific heat capacity etc. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where to find these values?

Answer:

The blast furnace operation is highly instrumented and is monitored continuously. Times and temperatures are checked and recorded. The chemical content of the iron ores received from the various mines are checked, and the ore is blended with other iron ore to achieve the desired charge. Samples are taken from each pour and checked for chemical content and mechanical properties such as strength and hardness Hope this would help!!!
