I broke my bracket on my left top molar, the very last molar. My braces might be coming off in January but this is the 5th bracket I've broke the last one was from July. I'm 16, amp; I was bored. amp; I was talking on the phone amp; I was chewing on a bottle just as habbit - chewing.so then I felt it break.so 1) I wear rubber bands on triangles on both sides, do I still wear them with broken bracket??2) Can I wait until my adjustment on Wednesday to get the bracket fixed? 3) What can happen between now amp; Wednesday besides movement, will it be a lot of movement , please explain thanks!
Stop wearing the elastics until you can call the orthodontist's office. Tell them you have a broken bracket. They will tell you if you need to be seen earlier than Wednesday. Also, ask them about wearing your elastics with a broken bracket. Even if the broken one isn't the one you use to hook the elastic on, it could move your teeth incorrectly.
Tell whoever takes you there that you broke it again. You can still wear the bands if it's not on that bracket. If your going there on Wednesday you shouldn't have to go any earlier. It won't really move. Btw You worrying way to much if you've already had them for that long and it's surprising that you don't know. And you should be smart enough not to break it again especially if your chewing on something like that. Be careful until January or February coz you've broken them a bit to much.
Just wait until your next appt. I went a few weeks once with several broken brackets, the dentist sucked at applications
