I just brought a sofa and it doesn't fit through my apartment door. I don't have the measurements of the sofa but does any one have any idea how I can get this sofa into my apartment... I don't want to return it
The option of sliding it around the door frame usually always works if you have it standing upright. Have the top of the back going in first towards the side of the door, when you have it pushed through the doorway the arms and seats of the sofa should be against the door frame. From there you should be able to push it straight on in or if it's still too wide remove the legs, then push it in. Some sofas even have removeable backs. You may want to look at that too before you start.
I have put one through a large window when it wouldn't fit through the door
You can try standing it on end, with the back towards the door opening. Push the back in, then rotate it around the door jamb. This only works if the length of the couch is less then the height of the door opening. Good luck.
Do you have a glass sliding door. I had the same problem and I live on the third floor. My buddies and I made a homemade pulley system with alot of rope and we actually took it in from the glass sliding door (wider) deck. Was quite a sight actually. My only other suggestions: Obviously unscrew the legs (I'm sure you've done that). Also: does your home have an outside entrance to the basement and then you could bring it up from there? Good luck
