I just got home last night and when I tried activating my car alarm before walking into my home with the remote it wouldn‘t work, when I press the unlock button it works fine, lights flash and all, but when I press the lock button it doesn‘t do anything, I tried locking it with my key and it still won‘t activate the alarm, what could it be? And what can I do?

How old is your car, and how old is the ALARM system? It could be just telling you it's time to change batteries in the remote. They don't last forever.
