Question:

Can I cover an entire baking pan with aluminum foil?

I don t mean line the pan, I mean to actually cover it with foilI m baking potatos, carrots amp; celery in a bit of beef broth (because I didn t have any meat to cook with it)I didn t have a cover, and usually I put a lid over everythingSo, I covered the whole pan with foil to substitute a lidIs this okay?

Answer:

Blanket styles come and go so it may not be available any longerIs it like a thermal blanket, a little more open weave?
Yes, I do it all the time when roasting vegetables like potatoes, zucchini, squash, carrots, bell peppers, big onions, etcin the ovenI first spray some oil or drizzle some olive oil over the veggies, season it with salt, cayenne pepper, black pepper and toss them to well mix itThen cover with a aluminum foil, Use a pair of scissors to make a few snippets on the foil to release the steam when the veggies are roasting so that the veggies are not saturated with vapor/steam to become mushy and soggy.
