Question:

For what would you use 4'X8' sheets of 5/32 thick cement board impregnated with fibers?

I found these in a house I bought and am not sure what they are nor what they would be used for. I'd hate to just throw them out if they could be used.

Answer:

I guess I would use them in a basement insatallation. Or in a bathroom.. It's drywall. Slap it up amd call it a day.
Backer-board for tiling walls or floors. An absolute must in bathroom showers and tub enclosures.
Backer board instead of drywall in areas with moisture issues such as bathrooms and kitchen back splash area, or as an underlayment for tile.
Not for tile like every one is suggesting. That is way to thin. That size isn t even a 1/4 thick. That product , what every is is , isn t for tiling, thats for sure. Maybe a wall board for insulating of some type? Even thats a guess. GL
