Industrial/Scaffold piercing question...please help!?

I got my industrial pierced on august 17th of this year. About 2 weeks ago this little bump formed on the outside of the bottom hole...i was wondering if i took it out to get it cleaned really good since its kinda hard to fully clean it would that affect it in any negative way? Its only been a month so im a little apprehensive about taking it out but it would only be for a couple minutes...please help!!!!!!!!!!

Answer:

I wouldn't do it. You shouldn't take them out until they're fully healed. It's a type of scarring from the piercing. Do sea salt soaks twice a day, keep it clean, don't touch it, and it'll be fine! I've got my industrial done, that's what I did and it's gone away now.
It is probably just scar tissue. I would leave the piercing alone or contact the person who did the piercing.
Sounds like a keloid lump!! I had one on my eyebrow piercing, I went to my piercer and she said rince the area with salt at least twice a day and also get a flannel as hot as you can handle it and press it against the lump. Mine went away after about a week.
the bump on the out side is only because when the needle went thru it was pusshing cartlidge or bone out. kindaof bending it. aventually. after a acouple mounth the bump will settle down and go away, just clean the hole twice a day and keep ur hand and hair off of it so that it can heal as quickly as possible without infection =) hope that helps
don't take your piercing out to clean the area, especially with it being so new, all you're going to do is irritate the piercing site and slow down healing (which is already a lengthy process with industrial piercings) it sounds like you may be developing a hypertrophic scar, which is not unusual in the least with cartilage piercings. many people mistake hypertrophic scars for keloids. if the bump hasn't gotten much larger than when you first noticed it, its not going to be a keloid. Keloids grow with time and often don't stop growing. They never go away without surgery and sometimes will come back even after surgery often times, applying dilluted tea tree oil to the area will make the bump go down, but really what you need to do is go back to the piercer and have them look at your piercing to help you determine what to do next.
