Don't drill the holes!!!! I have done this trick to many aluminum boatsWhen you are at K mart or Wally world get the thickest hard plastic meat cutting board you can findCut out a square big enough to mount your transducer on and get a tube of silicon rubber sealant and fasten that to the boatPut it on the back and all the way around the square of plasticLet it set for a day , then drill your holes in the plastic and not your hullI have a 1980 boat that I did that to when I bought it new and it is still on thereWorks greatMake sure you use short enough screws so you do not go through the plasticDrill tiny pilot holes to start your screws in the plastic also.
