I have a Burnham Series 2 Model B gas fired boiler.Flame is present but won't heat up.Water is circulating.
A lot of variables. Is there air in the boiler? pull the pressure relief valve for a second, or if equipped is the air handler or bleeder valve clogged? After that, check the gas valve, check the over heat safety's ( thermodisc) some may have a red button on them, manual reset. By resetting these the boiler may come on, but then you have to figure out what caused the safety to trip. Different safety's have different uses, i.e. over heat, flame roll-out, etc.etc. Is the induction fan running when it tries to heat? try this site for assistance. hope that this helps!
Burnham Boilers Troubleshooting
Make sure you have 14 - 20 psi of water pressure!
Cycling the t-stat will only delay the process some. Try turning the power off for 1 minute then back on. Make sure that only one of your t-stats is turned up to a higher setting. When you turn the power back on, what do these things do? 1. exhaust vent blower motor 2. pilot 3. gas valve 4. lights on circuit control board if light is blinking, count the blinks i.e. blink, blink, pause, blink etc., etc., 5. is anything happening, circulation motor, zone valves Sorry, but these are very complicated systems that we techs spend a lot of time, money and schooling ( hard knocks and technical) Knowing the sequence of events could help troubleshootyour problem
