Question:

I have a hole in the vent of my dryer Do I need to fix it or is it OK for the hot air to go in my house?

The hole is in the vent that leads outsideThe hole is in something that looks like aluminum foil which is then connected to a metal tubeMy husband says we do not need to fix the hole-that lots of people don't vent their dryer so the heat stays in the houseI disagree with him and think it is unsafe and could leave too much moist air and/or lint in the laundry room and also makes the dryer not work as effecientlyAny help/suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated and hopefully end our debateHappy Holidays!

Answer:

NoI always pull them, clean them, and properly store them in sealed bags, to keep things from nesting in them over the winterThen inspect the window for damage and rot due to moisture.
Just get some duct tape, and stop being lazy.
Yes,just keep a cover on it inside and outsideMaintenance will dictate when it has to be removed and cleaned, oiled and such.
