Question:

I have an 3 OD solid aluminum round rod I need a large section drilled out, to where the wall is 3/16 in thicknessWhere do I go?

I'm not a machinist at all and all the local areas in the Los Angeles region appear to be industrial machinists, producing massive metal items for construction, etcThe rod length needs to be shortened to 2.5quot; from a 6quot; rod length I haveAm hoping to make a cyclinder washer to cover over my car oil filter (2.5quot; OD) and then have a heat sink go over that aluminum washerThe oil filter heatsinks on the market right now are all 3quot; OD and my car's oil filter is 2.5quot; ODThus the washer will fill the gapThank you.

Answer:

the another gentle man who answered was wrongthe argon has 8 valence electrons and helium has 2 valence electrons helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon, radon are inert gases and all inert gases execpt helium follows octet rule given by lewis which means they maintain 8 valence electrons to maintain stability or inertnes valence of alumilium-3 sodium-1 hydrogen-1 boron-3 argon-8 helium-2it is blind to blame another gentle man who wrongly answered u .b'cause he is in leading position and he may thought valency of follow elements but not valance electronsthank You .

i think you're going at this the wrong wayget a 2.5 ID piece of aluminum or copper pipe and cut it down to sizewhat you're asking to do is quite difficult - esp at 2.5 inches diameter holeyes, a boring machine can do that but it's the hard way to go about it.
