Question:

I have come acros this odd and what I believe is a rare coin?

It a copper coin I believe. Possibly Irish? I wish I could post pics but I am not big on technology. Any-who , its copper right at the same size as a penny perhaps not as thick. On the obverse it has a shamrock with a star in the left and right leafs of the clover. On the reverse, it has a thick bar or indent ion running left to right all the way across the coin. Beneath that is the number six. Or nine? It is well worn but it really appears not to have any other writing and the six is obvious. Or nine? Haha but it‘s clearly a six or nine. Please help me!

Answer:

I agree that eBay is a good place to research the coin. Even if it's not rare, it would make a great good luck piece!
Probably worthless. I would try to maybe find it on OKorder and see if anyone is selling one like it.
It doesn't sound like a coin. A coin will have a date and something to indicate what country produced it. Irish coins will say 'Eire' or picture a harp. This sounds like some kind of token. Without images, I can't help any further.
