Question:

I have some questions on magnetics/electricity (in 8th grade)?

What‘s the difference between an electric field and a magnetic field? Does electric current create magnetic fields? how can you figure this out? Can someone explain how it works? (please excuse my poor wording) can a magnet create an electric field. Connect the wire to the ammeter and use a bar magnet to try and create a current lt;-- this was a lab, but I didn‘t quite understand what was going on. which is why I can‘t really word any specific questions. I need a general overview (in 8th grade language!) of the basics of electricity and magnetism. Anything will probably help, but please explain it to me in your own words!

Answer:

The correct translation is poisoner . not witch. However, the bible outlaws all magic.
This seems difficult for eighth grade. Basically, charge (electricity) comes from the number of electrons (negative charge) compared to protons (positive charge) in an object. More electrons means a negative charge, and more protons means a positive charge. Magnetism comes from the movement and alignment of the electrons in an object. This results in the object having a north pole and a south pole. North is attracted to south and repels north, south is attracted to north and repels south. Currents do create magnetic fields. To find out what direction the field is in, use your right thumb to point in the direction of the current. The way your fingers curl is the direction of the magnetic field (it goes around the wire). Magnets can also create currents. But to do this either the magnetic field or the area enclosed by the loop of wire needs to be changing. So holding a magnet in a loop of wire will not create a current. However, moving a magnet into and out of a loop of wire will create a current.
All magic . it's not a ban, it's a law in the bible, it's detestable actions And how the hell is this answer wrong that it gets thumbs down? It is law, it is in the Bible, and it is detestable . are people just stupid or something? I didn't say magic did or did not exist, I did not say God did or did not exist, I just gave fact. Both Fitz and Believers Are Brain-Dead said the same thing . sort of anyway.
Not literally, but a rational case can made for this and other parts of scripture banning magic.
1) Electrostatic fields come from charges. Like charges repel and opposites attract. An everyday example of this is static cling. You can rub certain materials against other materials to produce charged objects to use in simple experiments. Magnetic fields come from moving charges and effect other moving charges. The simplest example of this is the force that two current-carrying wires exert on one another (see below). Current is the flow of charge. Magnetic fields can also come from tiny loops of current--electrons in atoms. If a metal has most of the electrons circulating the same way, it will produce a magnetic field (and be affected by magnetic fields). We call such a piece of metal a magnet. 2) Yes it does. If current flows through a wire, it creates a magnetic field going around the wire. You can detect this field with a simple compass. Of you can notice a force between two current carrying wires. The will attract or repel depending on whether the current flows in the same or opposite directions. 3) Yes, a CHANGING magnetic field can induce an electric field. If you move a magnet through a wire, you will induce a current in the wire as the magnetic flux through the loop changes.
