Question:

I hope anyone can solve this (Word Problem) ?

There are three bars of metal, A,B, and C, having the following weight composition; A contains 6 parts gold, 2 parts silver, and one part copper; B, 3 parts gold, 4 parts silver, and 2 parts copper; C, 1 part gold, 3 parts silver, and 5 parts copper. How many ounces of each must be taken to make 28 oz of alloy containing equal parts of gold silver and copper? Please provide me solutions. Thanks and have a good day.

Answer:

A 6 g, 2 s, 1 c B 3 g, 4 s, 2 c C 1 g, 3 s, 5 c Let's go for 27 oz divided 9 9 9 and then multiply by 28/27. We'll use a oz of A, b oz of B, c oz of C Gold: 6/9 a + 3/9 b + 1/9 c 9 oz or 6a + 3b + c 81 Silver: 2a + 4b + 3c 81 Copper: 1a + 2b + 5c 81 (also: a + b + c 27) 6a + 3b + c 81 2a + 4b + 3c 81 6a + 12b + 9c 243 9b + 8c 162 2a + 4b + 3c 81 1a + 2b + 5c 81 2a + 4b + 10c 162 7c 81 c 81/7 11.57 9b + 8*81/7 162 b + 72/7 18 b 54/7 7.714 a + 108/7 + 5*81/7 81 a + 513/7 567/7 a 54/7 7.714 Multiplying by 28/27: a 8 b 8 c 12 Total 28 oz Gold: 8 * 2/3 + 8 * 1/3 + 12 * 1/9 9 1/3 oz gold Silver:8 * 2/9 + 8 * 4/9 + 12 * 3/9 9 1/3 oz silver Copper: 8 * 1/9 + 8 * 2/9 + 12 * 5/9 9 1/3 oz copper
Moto Guzzi's have an Integrated brake system. My '77 has it, not sure how far back it goes, but everyone I've seen since has it. The foot pedal works the rear and the right front disc. The hand lever works the left front disc. My 1000 Goldwing doesn't have it but I think Honda started using one in '80 or '81 on the 1100s.
Motorcycle Braking System
Definitely check out BMW's. But many manufacturers are equipping their high-end bikes with integrated systems and ABS. Sometimes ABS is an option and will cost extra. I would suggest just checking out the web sites of the brands you like and just check the specs of each bike you like. They'll give you more info than you want! By the way - I think someone answered that Honda bikes above 650cc have integrated brakes. Not true. I've got a Shadow Aero 750 and it's got a drum year brake. Retro look, but not as safe as a disc. Good luck.
