Question:

I just saw on the news that the U.S. has 9,400 nuclear weapons. WHERE ARE THEY ALL LOCATED?

We came in second with 9,400 nukes while russia is in the lead with 13,000. This made me wonder where are all our nukes located?? Are they scattered throughout the U.S.?? They almost have to be, since we have that many?

Answer:

Does not matter where they are you are never gong to get close enough to see the outside of a bunker. There will be at least a full company of Infantry or MPs in full battle rattle, plenty of ammo, grenades, a mortar squad and very likely a Abrams or 2 that can get there quick if needed and perhaps 2 or 3 AH 64's. There were bunkers (NATO Site 5) on the Kaserne I was on in Germany. Twas bad freaking karma to even ask about the place let alone try to get close enough to see it. Edit: Thanks Al but I know all this. A bunker is not a silo and I worked for a Secuirty Company that put up most of those vault doors and the ones at NORAD, the ones protecting the Declaration, Constitution, Hope Diamond. I know how to open them too. They don't put up doors like that on bunkers with many warheads out in the open.
There are different silos in different places across the US. Finding exact locations would be hard and they are moved sometimes for OPSEC reasons.
Strategically all over the world Some are in England Some are in the Midwest, West, South You'd be surprised Just Google PRP (aka Personal Reliability Program) Air Force Bases and you'll find them
Nebraska.
We have silos, storage facilities on bases, onboard ships and on submarines dispersed everywhere. You also need to remember that the ICBM type that we have in silos and on subs are MRVs...more than one warhead per missle. I'm not sure if still have any tactical nuclear artillery shells. Because of Open Skies, the Russians know where most of ours are ours are and we know where most of theirs are. However, the Russians have somewhat limited knowledge of where the ones that the Ukraine has are. Pretty scary huh? If you divide the number of devices by the number of weapons all of our nuclear capable military equipment can carry at one time, we are actually don't have that many...going by the numbers.
