Question:

I'm allergic to Lemon and Lime, what can I use in place of it in my recipies?

I want to try and make some homemade salsa, and my husband like guacamole, but I can't find any recipes that doesn't use Lime or Lemon in them. What can I use in place of it?

Answer:

Yes, basically they are astringents, and acidic. Either will do the job.
I have found when making face masks and such lime will do, it might leave a stickier feel, so rinse well when done. When you are cooking do not replace one for the other, changes the flavor fully.
Lemons have seeds but limes do not. It makes limes easier to deal with in preparing cosmetics or recipes. They do not taste the same but are generally interchangeable. Either will work in your face mask. If your mask is designed to bleach sun spots, acne hyper-pigmentation, or something, note that lemons are stronger than limes for that purpose.
