I need some major help. What is the main prevalent rock type in the Rocky Mountains?

Answer:

It depends on what part of the Rockies. In the Front Ranges it is mostly Limestone/Dolomite and a lot of Sandstone. In the Interior it is Crystalline and Metamorphic/Igneous complex of granite and andesites/rhyolites. The highest peaks are sedimentary in overthrusted assemblages.
The origin of the rock strata is volcanic with a majority consisting of granite.
