Question:
I need the help of our chemists here. Are there any?
If a few pieces of aluminum shavings will be added to a 3mL of dilute hydrochloric acid solution in a test tube and will be tested for the gas evolved by bringing a flame near the mouth of the test tube, what will happen? What will be tha gas bubbles evolved? What type of change will take place? If 1g of ammonium chloride crystals will be added to 5mL of water in a test tube, what can be observed? If the liquid will be transfer to an evaporating dish and evaporate to dryness and will be cooled not to be overheated, what will be observed to the residue? What changes will the ammonium chloride undergo?
Answer:
For the first one, the Aluminum will dissolve in the acid and give off Hydrogen gas: 2 Al (s) + 6 HCl (aq) - 2 AlCl3 (aq) + 3 H2 (g) The Hydrogen will burn with the Oxygen in the air, giving a pop: 2 H2 + O2 - 2 H2O For the second one, the Ammonium chloride will easily dissolve in the waterIf heated to dryness it will appear as a white powderThis powder is slightly hygroscopic and will pickup water from the atmosphere very slowly forming white or colorless crystalsIf overheated it will dissociate: NH4Cl - NH3 + HCl
I don't think she'll be too old for a Bouncy castle, you can never be to old for themWhy don't you try any of the usual party games, they're fine for all genders.
Oh, go for it! The birthday girl may not appreciate it now, but she will enjoy looking at pictures of it laterFairy cakes are definitely a must! These are simply little cakes (about the size of a bite) with powdered sugarFairies would probably eat little things like baby corn, baby peas, baby carrotsOf course, your little fairy will need it well cooked and possibly mashedFairies hate the touch of cold iron, so no silverware allowed - just finger foods! You could cut cheeses into flower shapes and also ham, and serve on crackers(Cheese is OK for a 1-year-old, isn't it? If not, stick with crackers, and maybe flower-shaped fruit or 100 percent fruit preserves for her.) Good luck, have fun!
I think she will still enjoy bouncy castles up until about 10 ish, you could try an inflatable slide or bouncy castle and slide, or even an assault course, assault courses provide excellent entertainment ideas for kids, they are basically two castles joined with inflatable bish'n'bash posts and a small slide at the end, a safe assault course will be one way in and one way out with no other way out other than down the slideAssault course hire prices are around ?150 but can look after 20-30 kids no problem with a max of 10 kids on at the same time.
