Question:

Looking for cold finish for large bisqued ceramic sculpture.?

I was wondering if anyone had tried painting ceramic, and what kind of paint they had success with.

Answer:

Of course you can paint ceramic. You can use any of a number of brands of acrylic decorative paints that you can buy in Walmart or just about any of the major stores, such as Joanne Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, Michael's. They are relatively inexpensive and come in many, many colors. They clean up with soap and water when they are wet, but when the paint dries, it is permanent, so make sure that you rinse the brushes right after each color. Also, make sure you wear old clothing that you are not concerned about having paint on, because most of the time, the paint will not remove from most fabrics once it dries. After painting your ceramic, it is best to spray it with clear acrylic finish to keep it looking good for many years. Hope this is what you were seeking the answer to. Paxie
