Question:

Ideas for transporting a cheesecake from one place to another.?

I'm making a cheesecake for a friend but I have nothing to transport it in, and the main store in my area does not carry cake boxes (AAFES is so limited). What could I use to place a cheesecake on (or in) that would be okay for transport? Would just a piece of simple cardboard (clean!!!) covered in aluminum foil and parchment paper be okay to put it on?? Anyone have any good ideas?TY

Answer:

your idea is greatAt the bakery I work at, they squirt a bit of vanilla frosting on the cake board to sort of glue the cheese cakes to the boardsThe foil is fine, you don't need parchment too, It will make your cheesecake slide aroundslide aroundAnd speaking of bakeries, check out ones in your area to maybe buy a proper sized box and cake boardWe have folks coming in all the time to buy things like thatI am in Rochester Minnesota and I have never seen cake boxes sold in any of the regular stores around here so i suppose that is why we get people into the bakery looking for them to buy.
