How many unpaired electrons are there in the ground state of this atom? Thank you
personally I would dump the olds 403 for a pontiac 400easier to build and make hp from and more reliable in the long run and it should fit right in as the 400 was the engine you got with a 4 speed
step one is exhaust systemthe 403 in your car is strangled with the stock manifolds and catgo to a decent set of headers and good, somewhat quiet, free flow pipes and mufflers The stock q-jet that came on that engine will do good for street driving and still offer decent mpghave a good kit put in it and have it jetted properlyAfter these mods you may consider the hei and ignition upgradesgoing into the engine for head work and cams can wait until you need a complete overhaula shift kit for the automatic will put more power to the ground for you, too.
Edlebrock should have a good carbTry to lighten everything up (as much aluminum as possible)Its gonna be hard to fit any performance intake systems under the hood AND incorporate them with the scoopI appreciate your desire to keep the appearance original though.
Between Shaun and BadTa, my answer has already been saidThe main thing is it needs to breath better and re-curving makes a huge differenceI have a friend with a bone stock 403 that was running 8.0's on an 1/8th mile track just with simple tuning and a little weight reduction.
[Ne]3s^23p^1?or do you mean [Ne] 3s2 3p1? That Al, aluminium The 3p electron is unpaired.
