Question:

If a flat iron was an iron heated over the stove, was there a lumpy iron?

Is that what they used to make waffles?

Answer:

A flat irn is a Sad iron, (and that was what it was, the brand name on it) and a waffle iron is used to make waffles but it is not an iron! Lumpy, tho! There was also a fluting iron, and that was wavy.
The lumpy iron was also heated over the stove. It was used to iron the clothing that had deep wrinkles. The flat iron was used on minor and almost no wrinkles but the deep wrinkles were difficult to reach; therefore, someone invented the lumpy iron.
The last Flat Iron I heated on the stove was a nice juicy tender steak! No waffle shape, sorry! ?
