Question:

If I'm installing a new car amp and I have a wiring harness under the seat do I need more wires for it?

Hi I want to install an amp in my 98 eclipse since I installed a new stereo and it won't work because of the factory amp. So I want to put in a new amp and I read that you need to buy wires to install the amp, but I already have a wiring harness beneath the passenger seat. Is that all I need? or will I need to install new wires?

Answer:

I would recomend that you run new wires cause factory wires are not the best gauge to carry the proper voltage to make you amp run at its best capability and it is best if the ground is no longer than 12 inches. Also make sure your rca jacks are run from a different way than your hot wire and remote wire to keep from having a motor noise or any feedback what so ever.
