Question:

If you leave watercolor on a palette, can you use it again?

Hi! So I have a pack of watercolor paints in tubesI was wondering if I must squeeze a tiny dot out each time I want to use some or do I squeeze a good amount and leave it on the palette? I dont have a watercolor palette, I just have the circled one that you would use with any other kind of paintI'm new to watercolor so please kindly answer my questionThanks!

Answer:

Put a cork in itI mean seriouslyPut a cork in it.
gas x or beano,possibly tums
coconut oil butt massage
see your doctorbut there is something called gas-x over the counteru can check that out.
Providing the palette you are using is not perfectly flat like an oil painter's palette, you can squeeze out a good amount (this is normal) and leave it on the paletteWatercolor palettes have dimples or compartments designed to contain from a half to a full tube of squeezed out paintThey also have coversYou can use a curved plate or dish (a plastic coated picnic plate will work) which can be covered with plastic wrap or aluminum foil between sessionsThe paint will dry out between sessions and it is reactivated by spraying water on it or dripping water on it from a brushMost colors will hold through several sessionsHowever, Cerulean Blue tends to crumbleI'm guessing dry paint activated on a perfectly flat palette will go in every which direction; it will be uncontrollableThere should be no effect on the quality of the color from session to session.
