In comic books recently, the Joker had his face cut off (at Joker's request) by another character. Just the layer of flesh was removed, resulting in a Joker face mask of sorts. Let's suspend reality and say this could happen in real life. Would that skin grow back from the remaining flesh border left around his scalp, ears and chin? If so, how long would that take? Obviously, since we're talking about a fictional character, the scenario is inherently ridiculous, but curiosity has gotten the best of me and I'd honestly like to know what would happen if this hypothetical were a real occurrence.
