Question:

in recycling, can i bring in more than just aluminum cans?

im starting to bring in recycling for money but all i have is aluminum and i was wondering if i can bring in cardboard, glass, plastic, anything like that i live in the 55119 area that's in maplewood, stpaul minnesota

Answer:

It just depends on what the recycling place takesYou should check at the place where you're taking your cans and find out what they'll pay for other stuffSome places will pay for newspapers, but the amount tends to be so low that it's not worth the trouble for the average Joe to pack papers to the centerI would probably take whatever the center will accept and not worry about the dollar amountThe main benefit from recycling is the good karma from thinking green but that's green as in the earth, not green as in your wallet.
masking tape and a permanent marker works great :) also u could cut some paper into little strips and write what you have to onto the paper then put clear tape over it and tape it onto what ever you have to
here's what.after you write a label on a tape, use a clear tape (scotch tape) and place it over the tape where you wrote the label, in that way you somehow give the label a plastic cover and protection from the natural elements
Masking tape and a permanent markerDon't use Duct Tape it will leave residue behind if you have to remove tape.
its not the tape you need to worry about mateits the pen / markerIm guessing you want to be able to remove the labels in the future or at least have the option toGet your self some masking tape or magic tape (inivsible) if you have easy to tear surfaces, normal tape can leave a sticky residueSecondly the marker needs to be permanet and possibly waterproof depending where you are going to use it you can wirte on any tape, it just depends on the marker, and if you do intend to take the labels off in the future be careful, like i said you dont want a sticky dirty mark left on the surface.
