As part of my science coursework, I have to find arguments FOR the use of additives in food and arguments AGAINST. I have already found arguments against, so what I am looking for now is arguments for the use of additives and ways in which they are good.Your answers would be very helpful to me.Also, if you know any websites which give advantages of food additives and arguments FOR them, just give me the link/s. Food additives are there mainly to enhance the flavour or prolong the life of the product. In frozen veg they sometimes remove flavours but replace them with artificial flavours but also add some vitamins, but basically, there is no benefits.

Food additives benefit greatly for preservation. For Example, the US Army's Meals, Ready, to Eat not only allow food to have a long shelf life, but can enrich the food eaten by soldier's to provide them the extra calories (energy) needed to do their jobs. Additionally, additives such as floride in water can improve the dental care in entire countries. And items such as lactaid (which, sometimes, are added to food) can greatly benefit people who are lactose-intolerated. These are just some of the ways why food additives are good.
