Question:

Infinity speaker question?

I was wondering if anyone has used Infinity tss-800 or tss-1200 speakers and how do they compare with other Home audio speakers.

Answer:

I have only heard these in dealer's show rooms with lots of other speakers playing at the same time never in my own homethe set ups I'ver heard sounded weak in the bass and overly bright on the high end but it also may have been that it was not set up properly or the acoustics were bad.but just generally speaking though almost all Infinity speakers I have heard sound that way to me; even large floor standers to me Infinity speakers always sound too bright in the treble with something lacking in the bass or low end
I dont know those specific models but Infinity used to be a fairly good name producing a quality speaker. The thing about speakers is they are like ice cream - they each have a different 'flavor'. For example: BW, Infinity, Revel tend to make very 'neutral' speakers for people who love classical, or jazz. The speakers try to not color the sound. But they take rock or hip-hop and make it dull. Klipsch is more forward and harsh. They tend to not work well for classical but people love them for rock or urban/pop/contemporary music. So the honest answer is - you need to take a favorite CD or two and go listen.
