hello, does anyone know just a general average/estimate price that a LIcense plumer might charge for an installation of gas boiler?I live in boston...I was told that the machine will cost me 500 but they still have to send a license plumer in a week from now to tell me about the price for the installation of the boiler.Thank you
Materials cost approx max ?1200, scrap copper cylinder and copper pipe is worth about ?50, ?1250 for a days work not bad. I would get at least 3 quotes. Its a pity your not in Devon Id do it for ?1600.
in the boston area plumbers aren't cheap. you're looking at 65-85 an hour plus install parts. if it's a boiler for steam then the install is very different from a boiler for hot water. if it's a replacement, and all the rest of your stuff is in good shape, then that would take less time and parts. i just installed a gas hot water boiler replacement in the boston area and it took 8 hours start to finish. steam would have taken longer since the pipes are bigger and harder to deal with. hope this helps
