Iron filings are attracted to magnetic fields. Would this attraction be an physical or chemical property?
i would say chemical as it has to do with atomic structure that gives iron its magnetic properties
short and simple out of sight out of mind, keep it put away , if it is out on display it will be gone . locked up in a storage shed a good chain and lock through frame and wheel , take spark plug wire off buy a disc lock
Keep your bikes in a garage protected by dogs. Works for me.
Is Magnetic A Physical Property
Being attracted to a magnetic filed is a physical property. Physical properties are characteristics that describe the nature of the material; they express what the material is like. Chemical properties express how a material behaves in he presence of another material. One chemical property of iron is that it rusts; it reacts with oxygen to form iron(III) oxide. Note that this chemical property express how iron behaves in the presence of another substance - oxygen.
