Question:

Is aquarisol safe to use with my cory cats?

I have a 55 gallon long aquarium, well planted, with double filtration and an 18 inch bubble bar. The other day one of my guppies died and a few more were flashing (rubbing on the gravel and décor). I noticed today that one of my blacklight tetras now has ick. I raised the temp of the tank to 85F, slowly. I would like to treat the tank as well, but I know that scale-less fish like corydoras are very sensitive to certain medications. The active ingredient in the aquarisol is copper salts. Will it hurt my cory cats? I have kept fish for over 25 years but I am new to cory catfish. So any advice is appreciated. And the bottle the medication is in does not specify whether it is safe or not. Thanks so much and have a great day.

Answer:

Hi Kimberely Aquarisol will be fine with Corys. Copper salts are harmful to inverterbrates but not Cory cats. Sorry to hear about the ich outbreak, good luck with the treatment. Best wishes
