Question:

Is copper Safe ok for coral?

My fish had ich apx 3ish weeks ago and we treated him with copper safe. Had since done a water change and added half a dose more 2 weeks ago. Would it be safe to place coral into the tank? ( it is a fresh water tank)

Answer:

Copper is not safe for live coral. However, nothing isn't safe for dead coral, in that you can't kill dead coral. Copper won't discolor or destroy it in any way, BUT the carbonate that the coral slowly dissolves into the water will act to reduce the copper's efficacy in treating the fish (more free copper is available in softer water; carbonate hardens water).
Copper isn't safe for coral, but neither is fresh water.
um, coral goes in saltwater tanks. it wouldnt be safe at all
