Question:

Is copper wire safe for making jewlery?

I made a ring out of some old copper wire I found in my grandpa's shop. I'm pretty sure it is electrical wire. Is it safe on skin? Cuz my finger feels a little itchy and warm when I wear it. Granted I have really sensitive skin so it may just be an allergic reaction. So is it safe to make and sell these or should I spend the money to get some jewelry wire. It would be cheaper to get wire from the hardware store but if no one can wear it... :P

Answer:

Copper wire may be like brass (part copper) and turn your neck Green. Silver and gold have years of testing to be the best.
no, it s not safe. copper is a high conductor of heat and electricity!! And it also gets rusted aesily and doesnt last its shine for long. so, go for silver, gold or any other alloy
