Usually I just have to sweep kitty litter off the bathroom floor, but now I have some on my carpet. Is it ok to use a vacuum?
It is OK to use the vaccuum as long as it is not wet. I have my litter box in my second washroom - I also have a dust buster in there to pick up any run-a-way litter pieces. If you have a box with a lid, it will help with the spread of litter, also I have a little mat right outside the box, and a bath mat at the threshold of the washroom - I never get litter in the condo itself, just a few specks in the washroom. You may want to try a couple of these ideas,
It depends on the vacuum. In older models with bags to collect the debris, kitty litter will create too much dust and eventually clog up the vacuum. If you have a vacuum like the Dyson, it will be fine. My Dyson has been doing duty for more than 8 years and lots of kitty litter over that time with no problems. good luck!
Can You Vacuum Cat Litter
it will eventually break your vacuum. i've had to replace my vacuum every 1 -1/2 to 2 years since i've had cats. 16 years now.
You can easily vacuum up kitty litter. The beater bar on the vacuum however usually will scatter the litter around when you try to vacuum it up, so be sure to use the hose attachment.
