I bought ground turkey yesterday and on the package it says to use/freeze by oct 12 so I just put the whole package in the freezerBut I looked at it today and it looks frozen and has the icy things on itShould it be ok? Should I have taken it out and wrapped it in a separate ziploc bag?

Tissue Paper, preferably the white kind, color tissue paper has inks and dyes that you don't want to inhale.
The way You froze it will be OK If you Plan to use it soon and the package does not have any holes in itIf You plan to freeze for several weeks or months then a ziploc bag would be excellentOr wrap first in plastic wrap and then aluminium foil.
