Question:

Is it possible to have the City move a fire hydrant?

The fire hydrant is in front of your property and you want to build a ramp right where the fire hydrant is at. Who do i have to call so they can move it to another location?

Answer:

Hi Jessica. I think the barefoot thing will grow - you are having to break down a lot of tradition where horses are concerned - and you cant just switch from one to the other without there being some care given to the kind of work the horse is in. I personally am all for it - there is a race horse trainer in Wiltshire that has most of his horses barefoot. Our horses, even our competition ones, are only shod in front and are barefoot behind. All our our ponies are 'au naturel'! No shoes, just trimmed every six weeks when the farrier comes. I have been thinking about barefoot for our dressage horse and feel he would be much more balanced if all four were barefoot - so its a project in the making at the moment. Those horses doing roadwork need to change to barefoot gradually but we are all forgetting that horses in the wild arent shod - and they do alright no matter what terrain they are on! The trouble is the same as finding a good farrier - finding a properly trained barefoot practitioner who knows about the horses feet and understands them completely. I think it is an industry that is wide open to a raft of people who would set up shop proclaiming they knew what they were doing. Therefore, it should be licensed and then there would be some protection for the horse and owner. But on the whole - I'm all for it.
It could be a couple of things.now it only does it as you go over like speed bumps and whatnot huh? Well, it could be the front coil springs. On top of them, there should be a rubber grommet that stops that annoying noise. If it is worn through or torn or missing, that could be it. Another thing that could cause this is your front shocks. The rubber that isolates the shock from the metal body and where it bolts to the front axle might be squeaking, due to it being old, worn or dry. If you know anything about your vehicle and where the shocks and springs are, buy a can of silicon lubricant in an areosol and spray these areas to see if it might help. If you do not know about these things, perhaps you know someone who might and ask them if they would be willing to spray the silicon lubricant on these things to see if it works for you or not. I hope this might help, the best of luck to you, Gordon.
