I have a 2002 Impreza with a stock stereo. I just bought and received a new Pioneer deck. I forgot to get a wiring harness. Is it possible to wire it without a new wiring harness? I know, I knowit would be easier with the wiring harness, but I want to bypass that if possible. Can I do it?
yes but you are going to have to find out which wire goes where and cut the factory harness plug and then crimp or solder all the wires together from the car to the stereo harness and eletrical tape or heat shrink them make sure there is no exposed wire unless you want your car to go BOOOM
You never need to spend that much for wire. If the unit came with wires, they will be adequate. I believe what you are witnessing is marketing psychology from companies that tout such ridiculous features as oxygen-free copper and low inter-lead capacitance, none of which produce any audible difference - PERIOD. I even saw one of these shysters advertising that their wire was burned in by running current through it for some period of time. I work in the electronics industry and while there are plenty of reasons to burn in an electronic device (i.e. solid-state circuitry w/other active/passive components), there is absolutely no value to burning in wire.
there should be between 11 and 13 wires find the power wires first dont cut them u should have a batt a acc wire ground and a dimmer. cut 1 wire at a time speaker wires lesion to what speaker stops find the ground for that one and so on on go spend the 15 bucks and save your self a lot of time alot of new cars have airbags touch the wrong wire with a test light and pop goes your airbag
