Question:

is my belly button piercing rejecting?

iv had my belly button pierced for 6 month now but i think is rejecting because at the bottom is red what should i do? after 2 months i did take it out and put a pretty one in but it got irritated so i put the old one in and since then iv been having problems with it

Answer:

Right - you are proberly allergic to the alloys in the new bar you put in it such as copper and nickle are very common - its proberly nickle as its most common - many places do nickle free jewelery as i know this irritates my friends skin too. You had the piercing in for 2 months - you proberly have irritated your skin . However this may be an infection - i would advice you to go back to an piercing place and ask there advice and until then don't play with it much and just clean it in normal way to prevent puss building up and help to prevent infection. You proberly have just irritated it and problems should stop within an few weeks but just go back to place and be safe and follow there advice and keep cleaning with it and don't play with it - if you have no problem at first 2 months rejection isn't issue its irritation or infection or inflamed skin . If this is an infection you may need an course of anti biotics - however if it was rejecting the first piercing too its likely your body saying no get it out of me . its likely just to be an allergy to the pretty one if you had no problems before but if you did its likely to be rejection or infection , infection it cud be either way so please get it checked out because it gets serious .
Jo is right. Get someone to look at it. Also, if you have sensitive skin or are allergic, i recommending getting a white gold ring. It's hypoallergenic.
