My brother lost the cable from the wall to the back of the power supply for his dell somehow, and I have one for a different brand (gateway). Are the cables themselves an interchangeable industry standard?
Desktops...yes. Laptops...no.
If you're talking desktops, then yes, the cord is an industry standard. You can swap them around as you wish. The same 3 prong cable is used by many other electronic devices (TVs, stereos, etc) Laptop chargers are an entirely different matter.
yes they should be interchangable, on the PSU end, the other end (wall) will vay from country to country
