Question:

is the torque arm necessary on 82-92 gm f-bodys?

{camaro firebird} i hace found a 4 speed rock crusher and no torque arm bracket on the tranny

Answer:

GM put it on there for added weight lol comeon, you know the answer to this yourself.
Yes. It also keeps you from ripping the rear end out and keeps your pinion angle correct.
uh....yeah it is. it is a rear suspension component. unless you go with ladder bars or a 4 link you need to keep it. either fab up a torque are mount or start shopping for what type of rear suspension you want... in all reality, the rock crusher would be overkill. the weak link at that point would be the 7.5 rear. to me thats like putting a 454 in an otherwise stock chevette. one stout part that didnt really match all the others.... but hey, do what ya like. most wouldnt drop a 400 and 12 bolt in a turd elcamino like me.
Yes it will - the entire LS series will fit into a third gen f-body. There are now retrofit kits available to drop the ls's in, and it makes the surgery that much less painful.
