Question:

Is there a digital camera that can use a battery pack or 2 AA batteries?

If I go oversees this summer to Kenya, I heard that they don't have the same voltage or something- so i can't charge my battery pack, so it would be easier to buy AA batteries instead and carry them there but when I return i just want to be able to use a battery pack. Can I have a camera that does both and is not that expensive?

Answer:

Using rechargeable batteries with a digital camera is quite easy and common, even for those who travel overseas. Unfortunately, there are no common cameras, if any, which run on both AA batteries and also its own battery pack. However, using rechargeable is a great way to go. To go with any AA battery camera, you can purchase a set of Ni-MH batteries which come with 2 or 4 AA batteries (two to have in the camera, two as a backup). Most modern battery chargers accept ALL voltages - they only need a plug adapter to work in oversea countries, such as in Kenya. Both Energizer and Duracell make good battery chargers with universal voltage input, and these are bundled with AA batteries. These chargers are not large (they are travel-sized, actually) and cost $20 to $30 dollars, depending on the store. I hope this helps!
Unfortunately, very few cameras accept both AA batteries and a Lithium-ion battery pack. However, you can always buy rechargable AAs. I use a Canon PowersShot A570 IS. I use rechargeable AAs and get about 120 pictures on a single charge. Great quality, too. My only complaint is the flash takes 2-4 seconds to recycle
as some distance simply by fact the traditional of the photographs the digicam would have the skill to take, there is not any distinction. you will purely could come to a decision which inserts your photographs style extra. As others have pronounced, the smallest, sleekest, thinnest cameras would have there own rechargeable battery %. as an area saver. in the long-term a digicam that makes use of a chargeable battery %. will in all hazard be extra decrease priced in case you utilize it frequently simply by fact batteries get high priced. besides the shown fact that, in case you go with your digicam (to be on) for long sessions of time, you would be extra suitable off to bypass with some thing which you would be able to easily replace the batteries on. Compact digicams tend to pull juice out of batteries rapidly and while you're no longer close to a wall outlet whilst that occurs, your digicam is ineffective. If, on the different hand, you especially go with to take snapshots of pals or events or activities or such, a sleeker digicam may be extra suitable. keep in mind you could continuously purchase rechargeable AA batteries besides.
I have a Kodak Easy Share camera and it takes 2 AA batteries.
