For resin, they are normally put in a flexible plastic form(similar to Tupperware). If you are making something custom why not make a plaster of paris pancake and let that harden. Then carve out your form. Then find some fiberglass release spray and coat the carved form. Then pour in the resin(the resin is fibreglass resin) Then break away the plaster once everything has hardened;if it does not pop out. So, it is one of a kind.
