Question:

Is used paper towel recyclable?

I used a lot of paper towels when cleaning, but I feel like on some level its wastefulalthough constantly cleaning rags I suppose could be just as bad.

Answer:

You can use a larger hook size to get a more relaxed/softer feelIt also depends on the yarn you are usingIf it's rough on the skein it's not going to make a soft blanket.
Maybe it's more the yarn you are usingSometimes if the yarn is too thick check out making a swatch with a baby yarn or sport weightand if that helps and if you think your stitches are too tight you might also need to loosen up a littleGood Luck
Start w/ a soft yarnSimply Soft is a nice soft feeling yarnRed Heart yarn.while reasonably priced.has a tendency to be stiff and scratchyYou can try washing and rinsing the item w/ just plain white vinegar once you are done making itThe vinegar smell washes out and it seems to help soften the item up a bitPlus if you have pets it will get rid of odors and dander.
It sounds like your tension is a problemThere are some ways to make the blanket comfortable for your sonAs one person said, changing your hook helpsI would shoot for at least an H hook and also change the type of stitch you are using for better openness of the blanketDepending on how this blanket will be used, I would use a sport-weight yarnIt's airy and lightOr if it is for warmth, using a tight stitch worksHTH!
Just about everything is recyclable, news paper, all kinds of other paperI'm sure paper towels are too, pretty sureThey might not necessarily be made into papertowels again, but into other thingsI recycle glass, plastics, aluminum, copper, steel, paper and newspaperI dump organic waste like potato-, banana-, orange peels, egg shells etc into my compost pile or at the base of treesMy place does not even look messyIt's all organized and neatI have a nice little system going, and I'd like to make a bigger effort, and start a recycling system in my town, as waste is a major problem where I liveAnd I could even help create jobs worth having, as well as help clean up my townThere's really no such thing as garbage.
