Question:

Is zero its own additive inverse?

and it doesnt have a multiplicative inverse right? thanks for answering!!

Answer:

rub the discs down with alcahol. works every time on my bb7s.
They have achieved perfect harmony with the rim. :) Try shifting the pads, angling them slightly off parallel with the rim. Be sure you don't interfere with the tire when you do this. This has worked for me in the past. Otherwise try a new pad with a different material.
Correct, additive inverse: 0 + 0 0. Correct, there is no multiplicative inverse.
